THE GOOD SHEPHERD HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN (GSHC) in Kigali, Rwanda is our primary project and the one that brought ONE HUNDRED DAYS into existence. Click here for more on OUR STORY. We have been a bricks and mortar project since we began OHD, but now that all the funds for building Phase I have been raised, we are moving to an operational and programmatic focus! Praise God! We have been building a pediatric facility that serves one of the poorest parts of the capital city. We will open as a clinic and grow into hospital status over time. Phase I of the hospital (approx. 7000 square feet) will be able to provide much needed healthcare for the surrounding community in spring of 2014. Now we can see the vision come to life!
THE VISION OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN IS A HOLISTIC ONE. It will provide children with a safe, clean, and beautiful environment for receiving quality medical care and loving attention from the Good Shepherd Commuity. It will serve Rwandans through outreach, education, routine immunizations and training for local healthcare workers. Equally as important, the hospital will serve as a catalyst for emotional and spiritual healing, connecting every child who enters its doors to a community commited to meeting the needs of the whole family. The vision of the hospital is not only to meet the physical needs of it’s patients, but also their emotional and spiritual needs- to bring wholistic restoration to patients and their families.
