ONE HUNDRED DAYS
We cannot believe that we are writing these words and that they are true, but our beloved partner and friend, Kedress Nziramakenga has gone to be with the Lord. Please join us in praying for Simon, her children and the Good Shepherd Community Church as all find their way forward in a new and strange reality. We can only trust the Lord.
In 1994, Rwanda was engaged in one of the worst genocides in modern history: 1 million dead in 100 days. Most of us have never had to come face to face with killers who destroyed our families. We have not seen our country devastated while the rest of the world did nothing. We have not had to choose to forgive in order to survive. Our Rwanda has survived all of this and now is determined to become a thriving nation. Our name represents our desire to restore those dark days.
OHD is a 501c3 non-profit founded by a group of friends and neighbors in Atlanta, GA who were compelled by Christ to play a role in the restoration of Rwanda. Although we have a high level of expertise in global health and African culture, we believe that the best solutions come in trusted partnership with local leaders. We are currently partnering with Pastor Simon Nziramakenga and his wife Kedress of the Good Shepherd Community Church in Kigali to build and launch the first dedicated pediatric faciltiy in Rwanda.
